Online counselling for people in Hyderabad

Hyderabad moves fast: the IT corridor from HITEC City to Gachibowli, shift patterns that follow other time zones, and a city many people arrived in for work, far from family. HopeLooom offers counselling online on Google Meet, so support fits around a Hyderabad life rather than around the traffic.

Why online counselling suits Hyderabad

No crossing the city. Whether you're in Madhapur, Kondapur, Kukatpally, Banjara Hills, Secunderabad or out past the ORR, a session shouldn't mean an hour each way. You join from wherever you are.

Times that fit shifts and calls. Available slots are shown live when you book, in Indian Standard Time, including early and evening times for people whose working day runs on someone else's clock.

Privacy. In a city where colleagues and neighbours overlap, joining from home means nobody sees you walk into a clinic.

Continuity. Travelling for work, going home to another state for a few weeks, or moving apartments doesn't interrupt sessions.

What people in Hyderabad bring to counselling

  • Long hours, deadlines and burnout in IT, pharma and startup jobs, and the feeling of being always on
  • Relocation: settling in a new city, missing family and friends, building a life from scratch after moving for work or study
  • Relationship strain: partners in different cities, family expectations, the pressure of decisions about marriage or children
  • Exam and career pressure for students and early-career professionals
  • Anxiety, low mood, poor sleep, and drinking or using more than you'd like as a way of switching off

You don't need to know which of these is "yours". A first consultation is a conversation about what has been happening and what you'd like to be different.

How it works

Choose a session type and a time on the booking page. Your booking is confirmed straight away by email, with a reminder before the session and a Google Meet link before you meet. A first consultation runs 45 minutes; follow-ups are usually weekly or fortnightly, decided together. Fees are shown before you confirm, and no payment is needed to book.

Counselling is with Somesh Saurav, an MSc Clinical Psychology graduate with supervised clinical experience across psychiatric hospitals, early intervention centres, rehabilitation settings and community organisations. His approach is warm, collaborative and non-judgemental.

What you can bring

The concerns people most often bring are described on their own pages: anxiety and stress, depression and low mood, substance use, and relationships and life changes.

If you need urgent help in Hyderabad

HopeLooom is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 112. For free, confidential mental health support at any hour, call Tele-MANAS on 14416; it connects you to trained counsellors in Telangana. More helplines are on the resources page.

Questions people in Hyderabad ask

Do I need to visit a clinic in Hyderabad?

No. All sessions are online on Google Meet. You need a phone or laptop, a steady connection and a private place to sit; nothing else.

I work night shifts. Are there sessions that fit?

Available slots are shown live on the booking page. Early morning and evening times are often available; if nothing works with your shift, call +91 83097 78275 and we'll try to find a time.

I've just moved to Hyderabad and don't know anyone. Is counselling for that?

Yes. Loneliness and the strain of starting over are among the most common reasons people book, and they respond well to support. You don't need to be in crisis.

Can I switch to in-person sessions later?

Sessions are currently online only. If you need in-person or more intensive care, Somesh will say so and help you think through the options in Hyderabad.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between you and Somesh, with the few exceptions every counsellor works with: a serious risk to your life or someone else's, or where the law requires disclosure.
